This Language Arts 2 B course is designed to be the second semester course to follow Language Arts 2 A. It is aligned with the Pennsylvania State Academic Standards in Reading and Language Arts for Second Grade. It offers a balanced literacy component with reading and writing instruction for all second graders. Students will continue to develop literacy skills and strategies, using various genres of literature, to summarize, draw conclusions, make inferences, identify main idea and supporting details as they move through units of study which include lessons that allow them to develop and enhance phonological awareness, writing traits, various parts of speech, content vocabulary, and technology skills.
