This course is designed to give the student an overview and understanding of several genres of literature: focusing on poetry and drama. The course will teach students how to read both types of literature and draw conclusions based on material read. Themes, symbols and other enduring qualities of quality craftsmanship will be applied to real-world situations. A variety of activities will be used to accomplish this including discussion boards, wikis, videos, podcasts, interactive tutorials and the World Wide Web. Each unit will include lessons, discussion board activities, assignments and quizzes. At the end of each unit, there will be a test or project. Students will also publish their own story as part of the final unit in this class.
