This course provides an overview and understanding of specific literature: poetry, several kinds of non-fiction, and the biographical novel. Students will have the opportunity to respond in writing to these three kinds of literature. The goal is to have students read, critically analyze, and apply new knowledge to their own lives. The fourth unit is on developing speaking skills for different situations and on analyzing a good speech. The course contains a variety of methods for students to communicate what they learn.
