Algebra 1B
MA.08.Algebra1BTFv2.Bnet4copy
This course is continuation of Algebra I-A. This course will cover Inequalities, Systems of Equations, Polynomials, and Factoring Polynomials. You will see a wide arrange of instructional tools that include; Power Point Presentations, Instructional Videos, Virtual Manipulatives, Educational Games, Direct links for help, and many more. All you'll need is a notebook and a pencil and you're ready to begin.
Enduring Understanding
The student will understand:
- Algebra is used when surveying highways to decide the speed limits based on traffic and length of the highway to ensure safety.
- Investigators use Algebra to solve crimes with equations that can recreate accident scenes.
- Scientist use Algebra when observing exponential decay and growth of bacteria, along with many other applications used by all fields of science.
- Algebra can be used to analyze a quantity changes over a period of time.
- Using quadratic equations (polynomials) you will understand how to simulate arches.
Essential Questions
- How do functions of linear equations allow you to analyze real-world situations over time?
- How can systems of equations be used to accurately predict future events?
- How can linear inequalities allow you to find a range for an event?
- How can equations apply to life?
