Environmental Science Part B concepts address the biotic factors within the environment. Within the this semester, you will be investigating Ecosystem Interactions (primarily ones within the living components), biomes and succession, populations, biodiversity, IPM, wastes and sustainability. The various units will take you on a tour of how the living organisms interact within their habitat, how the physical characteristics of the habitats influence the types of organisms that occur in an area, how populations change their habitats and what happens to the habitat if it is disrupted. The critical need for biodiversity within the habitats and why it is vital that we preserve these resources for the production of our food, provides a resource for medicines and the health of our globe.
