The Social Studies 7 Geography course introduces online students to major regions of the world. Special emphasis will be given to physical and human characteristics, as well as social and cultural features of selected countries (United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe). Introduction to mapping and other geography-related skills will be covered, as well as utilization of the national geography standards in practical applications. Participants will use maps and other geographical data to locate, analyze, interpret, and solve geographical problems of a physical nature. Students are required to become involved in geographic education, computer mapping, multimedia presentations and special interest projects throughout semester A.

- Geographers find relationships between the past and present events, as well as the connections between people and the places that they live. The following questions can be fully answered at the close of this course.
- Geographers recognize how and why places change over time.
- Geographers study and compare/contrast people and places to have a better understanding of the world.
- Geographers use tool to help them analyze certain land areas.
- Geographers make conclusions and generalizations about the information they have gained.
- Geographers gather and interpret information in order to see how people and places shape the world.
