Studio Art
AR.HS.StudioArtTFV2.Bnet4copy
This Studio Art course introduces students to a variety of artistic media and techniques. Students will be able to create artworks through drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and digital media. Students will also work with other media such as: pencil, colored pencil, and pen, ink drawings, as well as acrylic, watercolor and oil painting. The course has a unit focusing on ceramics where basic pottery and advanced pottery are examined. Crafts, such as weaving, jewelry making, and paper making comprise a unit, as do figurative, biomorphic, and geometric sculpture. The final two units consist of a printmaking unit where monoprinting, linoleum block printing, and collagraph are all covered, and a unit on graphic arts, in which photography and commercial design are studied. Throughout this course, students will complete short activities, in-depth projects, and will participate in discussions about art.
